Below is a very short clip showing four male robins eating seeds on the ground by the bird feeder. You can see how much they wind each other up but their greed for seeds is stronger than their need to fight. Cute!!
Child-friendly blog showing my own pictures and/or video clips of wild animals, pets but very little on kids

Pheasant at the bird feeder
Look at what I found at our bird feeder!
A pheasant.
It is really timid and runs to hide under the bushes at the slighest movement or noise.

Long-tailed tits
Above are visitors that we see every few days on our bird feeder. They alway arrive in a large group. Here I can see nine long-tailed tits. They are very tiny, just about the same size as a blue tit.

Rabbits in the snow
You might have probably noticed that after playing in the snow, long-haired dogs end up with snow balls stuck on their coat.
Well, I recently filmed a rabbit walking around in my back garden. When I viewed the clip later, I realised that it was actually biting off snow balls that had formed under its feet.
Have a look at the small clip below. Funny don't you think.
Look, all gone now:

Pigeons fighting
Back in July last year, as pigeons were preparing their nests, I witnessed a strange behaviour between two males. They were fighting ....with their wings!
So, I quickly picked up my camcorder and here is what I captured:
Have you ever seen such behaviour yourself?

Opportunistic robin
This little robin took advantage of us moving around dead leaves in the garden. He came really close hoping to get an easy meal of small insects. I took lots of picture of him but the following one is my favourite.

How to prevent a gready squirrel from stealing bird seeds
I covered the bird feeder pole with a layer of car grease to try and stop my grey squirrel from eating all the bird seeds. Have a look at the funny clip below to find out how the squirrel reacted.
The squirrel was not hurt, just its ego! :-)
